Why shouldn't women be allowed to breastfeed in public areas? Don't babies need to eat when they are hungry? We get sandwiches when we are hungry and we can eat them everywhere. So why must baby have to wait or have to take a bottle in public?

It makes no sense. It's not like women are just pulling out their breasts with the intention of showing them off. They are trying to give their young one nourishment. Most women when they feed their babies in public, will have a blanket or some sort of cover over them, so that it's not so obvious what they are doing. There are even special breastfeeding t-shirts available now. So what's the big deal?

Do we have a problem seeing a dog or cat feeding their young ones? No! OK then it's the same with humans. Most mammals feed their young that way. It's a natural part of life. I for one think that it is a beautiful advantage that we have. When baby is hungry we don't have to worry about making a bottle. All we have to do is plop a breast in their mouths and everything is fine. Why people have a problem with that I don't understand. Maybe it's because many men with their obsession with women's breasts, will tend to get aroused if they see a nipple. But men don't have to see a nipple to get aroused and if they do oh well. Baby's got to eat!

God created women's breasts for the means of feeding and comforting our babies. Not as an object that men ogle and are obsessed over. In many other countries it is quite common for mothers to breastfeed their babies as soon as they start to cry. No matter where they are. If they don't people assume it's not their child.

I know of cases where mothers have been asked to leave because it is "offensive". Breastfeeding anywhere babies are allowed is completely legal. Some states have even passed additional laws that stress the legality of breastfeeding in public. You would think in this day and age where there are nude beaches popping up everywhere, nudity in movies and in magazines, that people would be comfortable seeing a mother feed her child that way. There was even a ban recently on mothers sharing pictures of themselves breastfeeding, with other breastfeeding mothers.

We have truly become a society who get stressed over the wrong issues. The matters that we should be concerned about get overlooked. Breastfeeding is the most natural thing mothers can do for their babies. It is normal. It is legal and it is the best nutrition for a growing baby. No need to make a big deal about it when you see it in public. It is a mother's right to do so.
