For years, even as the event unfolded, the birth of Christ, people must have been trying to find the answer to this question. I know, because the Bible says it, that Mary (Miry'om of Naze'ret) was born without sin on purpose by God Whom chose her to be the vehicle to bring Christ into the world. She could not have given a virgin birth without that Grace. whether she is divine is simply a mystery of God's and we will not know the answer to that question until we, ourselves, reach Heaven and if possible, ask her or God.
We know that Jesus had brothers and sisters, I read somewhere in a pseudo scripture that Joseph, Christ's earthly step-father was an elderly man, in fact a widow, having been married previously, and he had children in that marriage and that they are the brothers and sisters mentioned in the Bible. But as I indicated, the article I read added to it the word (pseudo) so there is nothing in the Bible that says Jesus's brothers and sisters were not half-blooded to Him.
We know that after Christ's birth Mary and Joseph lived as husband and wife in a small community and that really nothing could be hidden from people in that community and the Bible clearly states that James was His brother and a child of Mary.
Now, if Jesus Christ decided to make Mary, his mother, divine, we will know in God's time, I do ask the Vrgin mother to pray for me to her Son Jesus Christ, because I'm told I have a friend in Mary and I have recourse to ask for her prayers, I do believe she must be a t the very least, a Saint.
Divinity, when I contemplate it, means The Holy Trinity, The Father Almighty, The Son our Salvation, and The Holy Spirit in Whom we have much recourse to ask for forgiveness and stay strong in our faith and loyalty to ABBA. I love to call our Father in Heaven Abba, because in Hebrew, the word means daddy.'
Remember when you were a litlle child, those of you whom had a father, wolud call out to him daddy, daddy! This is how I choose to think of my Father God in Heaven, and I'm told that He delights in it-Daddy, Daddy, please come and lift me out of this tree, or daddy, daddy come quick, I fell and hurt my knee.
The same could be used to ask my ABBA, o my ABBA, come save me from disaster! Just as Jesus Christ is divine I believe it is alright for people, Catholics I think, to believe in the divinity of Christ's mother. I would never condemn another soul's belief system. I think God would be very angry with us if we start to do His job of judging others for their beliefs and I believe that God will judge us according to our iniquities, being judgemental of others may indeed be cause for God's judgement of us-in the negative.
