Writing for Helium: How to obtain feedback for your writing

There is nothing more important in the writing process than obtaining feedback from our work. without obtaining such feedback, we would never know how our work was being received. If we don't know how others view our work, how will we improve? How do we learn what is working for us as writer's, and what isn't working for us? If we don't know we don't grow.

Obtaining feedback on Helium is very easy, and you can get whatever type of feedback you wish. One of the easiest ways to get your work read, and to obtain feedback is to ask for a writers critique. All you have to do is go to the forum at the community page, and ask that your work be read. A Helium member will then read your work, and give you some advice, and tips for how you can improve you work, and what went well for you.

You can also receive feedback without having to solicit the responses. Any rater has the option of sending a message to you after reading your article. By clicking on the "send praise, or feedback for this writer" link, you will be directed to a text box that will allow you to type a message to the author of the article. That author will receive the feedback via e-mail, and can decide whether or not to respond, or let the feedback go.

Another way to solicit feedback from readers is to simply ask a question on the boards. In the conent fourm, or on the forum that is specilaized for the subject you are writing too, you can click on "start new thread", and ask your question in the form of a thread on the message boards. Most likely a member of the community will read your thread, and will either read your work, or ask for some links to your work.

There is always the option of looking for a highly rated writer, and asking them to take a look at some of your work. I have had people e-mail me and ask if I would take some time to read their articles. It is always a pleasure to know that new, or struggling writers look up to you, and that you can help mentor them during the writing process.

There are several ways that you can enlist the help of the Helium community to obtain feedback. All you have to do is just ask, and somebody will always be willing to help you out. The goal is to make sure that everyone has a good chance to write the best content that they can, and to not make anyone feel discouraged. Writing is a process, and it should be fun, and by getting good feedback, we all can grow as writers.
