warm sunlight dances on my face
a gentle breeze passes softly through my hair
the sweetest fragrance of wildflowers pulls me forward
luring me in helpless, entranced i move effortlessly into the shadows
farther and farther into the depths of the wild wood trees
looming high in the amethyst and crimson sky
faster, farther, my heart racing
i move over lifeless trees strewn in front of me
and under limbs hanging down as if waiting to touch me
as i gracefully shift about beneath them
the shadows grow softer
the light of the sunset streams in between dangling leaves
i break through the foilage and into the blaze of the sunset
the sun is settling down behind a distant peak
i make my way into a wildflower filled field
i am drawn to a clearing
i am winded and my limbs ache
fatigued i nestle down into a cozy patch of creeping plox
the tranquil end to the perfect uncaged day
