Everyone has their own view on what a dancer is or can be, some may even be right. However I am here to tell you most of them are wrong. Being a dancer is a lot of work, it is not always easy to get the almighty dollar from anyone, men or women for that matter. This article is to help open peoples eyes to what a dancer is really about. I was 18 when I first started to dance, I was nervous, unprepared for what I was doing. Not only was I unaware of what dancing consist of really, I was not aware it was not as bad as some had said it was. I walked into a club in Council Bluffs IA, It was dirty yes, dark, and Music was low and hardly anyone there. The business was closed and I was going in for a try out who would of thought. In any case I continued in I meant the manager of the club and two others that were there, the bartender and the owner. My nerves were up and I was scared, I chalked it up and went to the manager to discuss the job at hand, To get information on what to do and how to do it. She was very polite and understanding that I was a first time dancer. She explained it all to me the sets, the dancers, the dancing, what to do and what not to do. The outfits that we wore to what to take off and keep on for that matter. Once the conversation ended she asked if I was ready to try out... even though inside my head I was not ready I was trying to talk myself out of it. My heart is the one that pushed me to try out. For in my heart I loved to dance, I loved the music, I wanted to try it. I listened to my heart and thankful that I did. I went to one of the dressing rooms in the back and quickly got dressed. I felt a little embarrassed, yet I still opened the door and walked out. I nervously walked to the stage, and they asked what song would like. I didn't care and as I said anything will do, it began. I danced with nerves, shaking endlessly. Yet I was able to hold it together long enough to finish the set. I was told to come in at 9 pm as that is when I would start my shift, I was hired. I did it I was a dancer. As the excitement rolled over me, I quickly dressed and left. My loving husband waiting for me in the car. I jumped in and told him they hired me, with dread on his face and love in his eyes he nodded. I then turned around towards the back seat and reached over to kiss my 5 month old child, I told her everything will be fine now mommies got a job sweetie. I wasn't forced to dance, I just new if I wanted to make quick money and be-able to raise my child
