Southern Dream (It's Only Natural)

Circumstances being what they are
Being the descendant of a raging star
Fire, water, air, and dust
Passion, desire - love and lust
It's only natural....

Intuition whispers like a ghost
Being the spirit of a heavenly host
Innocence, beauty, and all things revered
Loyalty, faith, and virtue sincere
It's supernatural....

Consequence is never as strong as the arrow

The road to happiness quickly narrows
Time and distance - purpose and fate
Two thousand miles to sit and wait
It's only natural....

Righteousness seems an impossible goal
Being just one of the all fallen souls
Compassion, mercy, and those gifts on high
I stare at the moon in the southern sky
It's supernatural

Just a northern boy
With my eastern girl
In a southern dream
Feel like I'm running late
No time to contemplate
I'm lost at sea....
Can't you see?

Images of you fill my world with color
I never want you to need another
Jealousy, rage - envy and pride
You see through to the boy inside
It's only natural....

Superstition lingers like the morning dew
Being the product of love so new
Mystery, intrigue, and those things unknown
Fantasy, fact, and those times we're alone
It's supernatural

Just a northern boy
With my eastern girl
In a southern dream
Was it the hand of fate?
I hope I never wake
It such a perfect scene

With my New York girl
In a southern dream
I feel I'm running late
No time to hesitate
I'm lost at sea....
Can't you see?

You are everywhere
And my soul cries out
That I can't be there....
Can't you see?

I can see your face
And curse the physics
Of both time and place....
Can't you see?
