Confessions of a Princess
Prince Charming, I have a confession to make
That may bring great sadness and pain,
I cannot be your princess anymore
I'm leaving, I'm going far away.
Thank you for finding my beautiful slipper
And returning it to me with your ring,
Thank you for asking me to be your bride
And for being the prince of my dreams.
Please don't take this the wrong way
And don't think the reason is you,
I have to start, the beginning of my life
I have to work and go to school.
It's time to close this storybook for good
Time to grow up and move on,
I'll never have a castle, or a prince, or a crown,
But I'll make the most of what comes along.
It's time for me to start, my own fairy tale
All my dragons and monsters, I'll kill them,
I find my own prince and pursue my own dreams
And someday, you will meet my children.
