  There are so many pets to choose from these days, but the question here is which one is the better pet. This is a hard question for me to answer because I am a true animal lover. I honestly believe it is up to you to figure out which pet is better for you and your family. It takes some research time, but you can choose a very good pet.

  Dogs are called man's best friend for a reason. They are extremely loyal and they can offer you unconditional love and affection. What they expect from you is the exact same thing in return. Most dogs, big or small, are very protective of their masters. However, if you have children or are an elderly person you should do some research before choosing a dog? Smaller dogs can be a little snappy, so these dogs would not be very good with children. Bigger dogs can be hard to handle at times and may require extra attention. Elderly people may not be able to care for a larger dog properly. That is why I said before you choose your dog do your research. You will be glad you went the extra mile with this.

  Cats on the other hand have a very independent spirit. They carry themselves with grace and dignity. They are beautiful creatures. Cats can be kept indoors, you might want to declaw them first, or outside. Which ever is the case they are a joy to have around.

  Horses make great pets also. They are very intelligent animals and they can give you constant companionship. Horses are loyal to a fault at times; they have been known to run themselves, for their master, so hard they sometime die. Thankfully this does not happen much these days. Horse back riding is an amazing experience. Horses are probably one of my favorite pets. We own an Appaloosa named Sugar, she is a sweet heart.

  I believe all animals, within reason, have the ability to become a great pet. It is completely up to you to do some research before you bring a pet home. This insures that you are choosing the perfect pet for you and your family. When you do some research not only your dog will be happy, but you will be to.

  In closing, I do not think there is a wrong or right answer to this question. Most animals have the ability to make someone a loving pet, but it is up to you to do your research and pick out just the right one for your family. In this article I referred to three animals that would make excellent pets. There are many more out there. I hope this helps someone to choose the best pet for themselves. Good luck.
