To many, making money in runescape seems like a hard thing to do because it takes a lot of time and effort, which some people seem to miss. There are tons of ways to add that GP into your bank, and one of the "Big Three" Money makers in runescape is, yes, you guessed it: Fishing. Fishing first of all in my opinion is better than Woodcutting or Mining because it does not require much attention, so you can watch TV or do something else while just keeping part of your vision on your player. Fishing corresponds with Firemaking, Cooking, and even Strength, and was one of the first skills released in Runescape Classic. Back when there was PKing and drop trading, it used to be that cooked fish could sell higher than raw. But that is beginning to change, because raw is becoming a higher demand for people just buying and cooking the raw fish. Part of making money in Fishing has to do with watching the market, because if a major update comes up, the prices in certain fish may decline/incline dramatically. NOTE: If you want to really make money by fishing, it is better to be a member, because some of the locations in members give a lot faster fishing than those in non-member.
First, you need to know about certain types of fish that are good to sell on the Grand Exchange or near PK hot spots if you are selling them cooked.
Lobster: This is perhaps the most famous besides shark, because it is fairly easy to catch, at least if you were a member. If you aren't, it is a long way, because the only way you could effectively fish would be at Karamja, which is quite a way away from the bank. These sell decently on non-member worlds to PKers.
Swordfish/Tuna: These are hard to catch because with the harpoon, you catch both at the same time. Usually, people would throw away the tuna and sell the swordfish because it is sold at a 400gp higher price. BEWARE: This does take along time. I do not recommend.
Monkfish: These are also popular, and are only available to members. You can fish right next to the bank, so this is a very fast way to easily make 100-200k a day.
Shark: This is obviously the most popular, because they heal a lot, not as much as sea turtle or manta ray, BUT are in bulk. These are the member pkers best friend, and you can probably make more fishing these than any other type of fish.
Now that you know a basic knowledge of making money from fishing, let me inform you that these are not the ONLY fish that sell big on the market, because people do buy salmon, trout, anchovies, and huge fish like manta rays and sea turtles. Good luck making money from fishing!
