Hear Her Roar*
The lines of woman are exquisitely drawn, as if from
God in his androgeny and the expression of first art.
Skin, so smooth in youth then textured by experience
Runs the length, breadth and depth of her continuity.
As she breathes, every swell and indentation subtly
Draws you onto the river without end.
The eyes are deliberate beacons that offer you safe harbor,
Safe passage or worm their way into your very soul
Where all is seen and nothing can withdraw.
Woman can sweep you into an ecstasy of discovery
Or into an unyielding hell of solid wall that will be
Scaled by invitation only, all rights reserved.
She can tell or she can ask;
She can take or she can give;
She can terrorize or she can mesmorize.
Her seat of power is in her magnificent
Paradox and depends largely on whim.
Such is woman; hear her roar.
