Albums that turned rock-n-roll into alternative music

Rock-n-roll was the original sound that was made back in the older days of music. As it went on, people brought up hair bands, metal bands, etc.

Now, Alternative Rock is by far the worst music ever. I don't understand how anyone could possibly listen to those horrible vocals from horrible musicians.

Bands like the following:

Creed

Nickelback

Hinder

3 Doors Down

Staind

Puddle Of Mud

Default

Theory Of A Dead Man

All were bands that, yes, made it in the music world and yes, made a lot of money, but in my opinion they have ruined rock-n-roll. I don't believe that any alternative vocalists can truly sing at all. They all sing with their throat rather than their diaphragm. Therefore, it sounds terrible. People are always saying, "well if you truly loved music, then you would just respect the bands and stop talking negatively about them." Well, I love music, it's my life, but if you can really respect these bands, then you really can't seriously love music.

I do respect the fact that they tried and made it. How they did it I have no idea. I think people were to messed up on drugs to realize that the bands actually sucked.

No matter how many people love them, or how many people hate them everyone does/should know that those listed bands above started alternative rock. Therefore, they ruined the rock-n-roll style of music.

But there were some bands that were titled alternative that expanded that style of music a little and a couple of them had an all right sound. I'm not saying that I will listen to them very often, but bands like the following:

Nirvana

Pearl Jam

Soundgarden

did expand the sound of alternative rock. Sure, Pearl Jam was one of the originals, but all the copies weren't even close. (Creed)

Creed messed everything up for Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam was loved until the bands that tried to mock them came along.

There are so many bands, like Creed, that tried to make themselves sound like Pearl Jam that did a horrible job of it, it caused Pearl Jam to look bad. So to those bands, all I have to say is: Be creative and original if you're going to write music!

That is what I think about alternative music in general. But as for the albums that started it all. I believe that the following did:

Violent Femmes self-entitled album

Pixies - Come on Pilgrim

R.E.M. - Life's Rich Pageant

The Replacements - Let It Be

Faith No More - The Real Thing

Sonic Youth - Evol

Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime

Black Flag - Damaged

Nirvana - Bleach

Those are the albums that I believe created the alternative rock that we know today. Because today's alternative rock consists of bands trying to be all of those bands in one. Horrible.

But there you go.

Thank you. =]
