It is frequently recommended that you leave comments on other blogs so that you may increase awareness and bring additional traffic to your own blog. This can be quite a valuable tip, however if you utilize the tips I have provided below I believe you may see even greater results.
Leave Impressive Comments
The first tip is standard-you should always leave insightful and clever comments that will actually be useful to the reader. While this is sound advice, it is just a start to writing effective blog comments.
Write Controversial Comments
You will be able to generate traffic and attention by respectfully presenting alternate opinions in comments. Controversy will get noticed, but be sure that your comment is logical and adds value. Do not just use controversial remarks just to draw attention. If your view is reasonable and you can back it up then your opinion will be valued.
Always Use the Same Name
You should consistently use the same name when leaving comments. Say your name is Jonathan Jack Johnson, for example, don't use "John Johnson" sometimes and later use "Jack Johnson" and occasionally use "J Johnson." You want readers to recognize you, so pick one commenter name and stick with it.
Attach Your Commenter Name to Your Tagline or Blog Name
If you append your tagline or your blog name to your name when leaving comments you will get even more notice. So if "Toddler Talk" is the name of your blog and you are Jack Johnson then you use the commenter name "Jack Johnson, Toddler Talk" you will get heaps of attention on blogs about toddlers. Of course, don't forget to be consistent with your name.
Leave a Comment Early
Late comments don't attract anywhere near as much attention as early comments. Later comments are likely to become obscured and they won't be read as often. It is far better to be the first of even the second commenter on well liked blogs, as opposed to being the tenth or twentieth.
Leave Comments On the Same Blogs Regularly
You will be more likely to get noticed by frequent readers if you leave comments regularly. There is also a higher probability that these readers will also visit your blog.
Comment on Related Blogs
No matter how wonderful your comments may be if you're a toddler blogger then your efforts would be better saved for other toddler blogs than on pet, business, political, or other blogs that are not related to yours.
Writing comments is an excellent way to help bring additional traffic to your blog. By utilizing the seven tips listed above you will gain far more traffic than you would by merely leaving good comments.
