Poetry: Emotions

by MJ Brown

Created on: March 04, 2009

The Phoenix

Awe moves deep within me

When I step outside myself

And recognize that Fate chose well

With the hand to me she dealt.

The struggles that I've faced

Have served so well in honing

The sharp two edges of my sword,

Better for the knowing.

So here I am learning lessons as I can.

Yes, here I am. To fully live I must be my first fan.

Life has a tendency

For us to crash and then burn.

The trick that seems so very hard?

Ashes are where we learn.

So here I am learning lessons as I can.

Yes, here I am. To fully live I must be my first fan.

May we continue to rise from the ashes.
