Among other reasons, Mc Cain's Public Record: Votes Against Troops & Veterans. The Double-Talking Express kept on rolling along. McCain voted AGAINST American troops and veterans. The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) rates each member of the U.S. Congress from 0 - 100 on supporting "the interests of American veterans." Before the 2006 congressional elections, DAV published a list of how members of the U.S. Congress voted on American veterans' legislation. Retired Enlisted Association rated John McCain at 0. John McCain's score from DAV was 25 out of 100. McCain's score was worse: DAV rated McCain got a 20 out of 100. Not only has McCain refused to support the 21st Century GI Bill, which the Veterans of Foreign Wars endorsed last June, he has consistently voted AGAINST increasing funding for the U.S. Veterans' Administration, which oversees all medical care for American veterans:

""There is a great myth that the Republican Party has perpetuated that they are better for defense than the Democratic Party and that they are good for veterans. Nothing could be further from the truth,'' said Retired U.S. Army Major General Paul D. Eaton on a media conference call Sunday. We have suffered eight years of significant underfunding and underfocus from this administration and my great fear is a McCain administration would continue that process.

Isn't it is way past time veterans also are a State and Federally protected class of American citizen? Classes of people that are already Federally protected against discrimination include race, nationality, ethnicity, marital status, age, familial status, and disability.
