This is my kitty, Angel's story. I have to start at the beginning, which is actually before she was born.
A few years ago, my daughter was given a kitten that needed a home as her owner was moving to place where she wasn't allowed to have pets. We agreed to take her. My daughter and I love kitties and fell in love with this little grey tortise-shell cat. She came to live with us and fit right in. My daughter named her Olive, because of her olive-green eyes. She grew quickly and before we had a chance to spay her, she became pregnant. Everything went ok. I decided before hand that I would keep one of the kittens.
The big day came one sunny day in August. My daughter had gone over a friend's house and I was busy in the kitchen when all of a sudden, Olive came running up to me making strange sounds. I knew she was ready to have her babies. We had a box all set up for her, so after chasing her around the house and finally removing her from under my son's bed, I got her into the box. Olive delivered a very small kitten. Soon after, another one came. All together, she had four kittens. The first one died soon after it was born. It was just too small. She had three left. Two grey and one orange. The next moring another grey one died and we were all pretty bummed.
The other two thrived and quickly grew into happy healthly kittens. I decided to keep the remaining grey one. I was drawn to her because she had these markings on her back that looked like wings. I named her Angel because of that. She and I soon became best buddies. She followed me everywhere and even sat on my lap as I surfed the internet.
Timed passed and Angel managed to find herself a boyfriend. I had planned to spay her, but accidents happen sometimes. On March 17, 1999, she gave birth to five kittens! I was able to be there when they were born and of course enjoyed watching this miracle. She had one little boy that would not nurse. My family and I tooks turns trying to feed him, but after a couple of days he died. This was hard on all of us, but sometimes they are just too small to make it. We buried him in the back yard with Angel's siblings that had died.
I knew I had to get Angel spayed before this happened again. Four weeks after the kittens where born there was an opening at the Humane Society. They have a long waiting list, so I took the appointment. I didn't realize that Angel would not be allowed to nurse her kittens after the surgery.
After the surgery, I had to wean the kittens. I managed to get
