Poetry: Hiding

by Kristie Ponce

Created on: March 03, 2009

COME TOMORROW
and i'm sittin' here
remembering
thinkin' 'bout you
and the tears are comin'

but slow

and they're cold
and it aches
and i'm afraid
and i want to tell you

you

'cause i've already given
so much
already bought your time
already

i won't owe you

if i need you
if i use you
if i make you
share my pain

but i know

i know
and it aches
and it's cold
that you don't want it

that you won't

won't hear
won't answer
won't pay
in kind

your guilt less
than seeing my pain
feeling my fear
that mirrors your own

and i'm here
afraid
aching
alone

but

come tomorrow
tomorrow
i will smile
and you will never know
