Where is "God's own country"? How many people have answered, "Heaven", or perhaps "Mecca"? Several, I'm guessing! Well the answer is subjective.

We, each of us, if asked to provide an answer to this question will answer by naming some beautiful country, or vibrant city; most likely our own country or city. In my opinion this raises two interesting debates.

1) Are we being arrogant to think that our own homeland is that of God?!

2) Why can't these people accept that the answer is clearly Ireland!

I shall provide an answer to each. No we are not being arrogant, it's natural to assume that yours is the most beautiful country, or the most amazing city. If this was not a natural thing, then where does patriotism come from, or perhaps the loyalty and rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool?! An affinity with your own home, it's just natural.

As for people not accepting that God's own country is Ireland, well, that's just down to the answer being entirely subjective.

Now, why is Ireland God's country? Well, because it is!
