How to be a team player

Sometimes we all have different talents and then there is a time when we put them to work. Sometimes we work as an individual and other times we work as a team. Working by yourself is extremely easy since that you can simply keep things to yourself. Unlike working by your self, working as a team is just as important. There is a need to share your knowledge of something you know, but also having to listen to others.

There are many advantages for working as or in a team. When working in a team, there are more brains to share ideas and therefore the work can be done better. Working by your self for an entire project can be quite hard, but in a team the work s evenly spread out. In a team, it involves listening to other peoples ideas and sharing your ideas.

There are also disadvantages in working as a team or in a team. This is because that there are conflicts that can be created such as when a disagreement occurs. When different members of the team insist on using their own idea, it is really important to work it out in words.

Some people may find a solution that work is by voting. This is however a really bad idea. When voting occurs, the rest of the members try to take a side which can be not so good. Different members of the team will feel excluded and left out. By explaining why each way is the best for this project in a team can help a great deal. Start by explaining why you think that the team should use your idea and ask the other person why they should use their idea.

Make sure no one is left out. A simple way to solve this is by assigning jobs that everyone likes. In a construction building, there could be a clean up crew, materials and supplies crew, machinery crew and many more. By assigning jobs and positions to individuals, it can actually make everyone feel important and part of the team. Also in a team, supporting is really important. By encouraging and complimenting someone for their great work can be just as good as well. It makes them feel proud of what they did and that they feel in the team.

When somebody does something wrong or could be done better, start off by saying something good about them instead of blaming them for what they did. Later on start by telling them on where they could improve on what they did. This is a great way because if you start telling them off, you might make them feel bad and for them wanting to quit this job. They will feel like that this is a suggestion instead of a complaint.

By following these simple steps, it can help to become a great team player. Whether you are the leader or just someone following along, this can be great to keep this team all friendly and working together. Any bunch of peoplecan make a team, but not everyone knows how to make a great team. Sometimes by helping a certain member of the team to be aware of something is great for them to change. Even telling the person, make sure you don't tell the person to change something just because you don't like it. Becoming a team player shows what it takes to help everyone no matter how annoying or ignorant.
