I saw a man his clothes were all tattered and worn,a tear in his eye .For a loved one he moarned. The crowd all passed him by.No one stopped to ask him why,his world was all filled with grief and woe.He was all alone,no place to go.He sat alone in the park that day.Hoping at best help would come his way.
He watched the crowd all passing by only to look at him and then to sigh,I approched nearer and nearer to the bench where he sat. What will i say to him,I must stop and think.Isaw him nod and took the cue,Hi i said and how are you.He looked so strange and near despair, I caught a glimpse of silver in his hair.
He said, today my world just stopped turning,I knew for loved ones he was yearning.I saw a tear began to form,as I slowly reached out my arm.Maybe I can be of some help, lift your spirits, or lighten your load.He arose so tall and lean I knew he hadn't eaten ,at least not lately to me it seemed.I ask would you like to share some lunch? And then we can talk,he agreed after some time, so we began to walk, and his story unfolds how he lost his home ,his dreams, and all his goals. In a second his world was torn apart.A fire had taken his family, and had broken his heart.Idid'nt know at first just what to say, this man was so broken and needed a friend.I softly whispered a prayer, help me dear lord to say the right thing .This is your child ,and needs you so much.As we walked on, with him talking of his fate I knew then just what to say so I began,God has spared you i said, and he has a plan. Your life has been blessed. I know right now it just all seems like a big mess.He has a job for you .From which you can't escape. But for some it may already be too late.Lay down your burdens at the feet of the Lamb.Tell everyone that will listen, about the Great I Am.Your joys will be many your troubles few .Just look up to Jesus He cares about you. Then slowly he looked my way,i saw a smile appear .Relief flooded my soul .. I too began to cry, with tears of joy I shook his hand, bless you brother i did say. Hope I have helped you some how along this way. He parted a different man than what i had seen that day. I'm so glad I met him ,my heart is at ease.Help a fellow man, then God will be pleased.Friendship is a wonderful thing. We all need someone, sometime so hope this story has helped someone although it is fiction. I have stopped many times to assist others ,if only to say a few kind words.Hope you will too.
