There are many sources of online chatting nowadays - you can find online chatting via MSN/Yahoo messenger, Skype, and even via Secondlife. Is chatting online considered cheating? In my opinion, it all depends on the intention of the person who goes online. There are many sorts of people who go online to chat nowadays. It is a very complicated world. First let's see why people want to go online to chat.
Many times people go online to chat when they have problems or when they are bored. There is something 'missing' in their lives, a needs from them that is not being met. So they go online to search for their needs.
In my opinion, I think single people who are not attached can go online for chatting. They are not committed to any partners and they have their choice of making more friends online. On the other hand, attached people and married people should not go online to chat. Even if out of boredom, love will be developed through time also through online chatting. This will lead to problems in the existing relationships.
Attached people and married people should share their weals and woes with their partners. As partners and as husband and wife, there should be no secret. There should be open conversation. When this communication breaks down, problems exist in the relationship. Hiding secrets are abnormal and detrimental to the relationships in the long run. Thus online chatting is definitely CHEATING!
Some people go online chatting to look for other partners. Some go online chatting to look for sexual pleasure. Whichever reasons, emotional feelings are attached through time. Everyday these people 'meet' online and chat, talking about their lifestyle, personal things etc. A lot of people, especially men, go online to chat when their wife is working. Some people even met up after chatting online to have sex. So do you think this is not cheating?
Online chatting is definitely cheating for attached people and married people, if not now is later, it's just a matter of time that this online chatters found themselves being emotionally 'drawn' to their favourite partners online rather than their real life partners.
