Engaged with my mind
Eyes turned only to my body, realized too late
Declare love when you whisper sweetness
Only to hear yourself breathe, realized too late
Commit to promises drawn in the sand

The next one always on your mind, realized too late
Realized too late and enmeshed
with your pretense
Letting go of the dream tightly held
Betrayal and disappointment remain
