I think that there are many rewards for owning a pet. I happen to be a pet owner. I have a miniature pincher named Mario. He is the love and joy of my life. He used to be my sisters dog but she could not take care of him anymore so he came to live with me and my parents.
The number one reward for owning a pet is for companionship. Like for example, when a person looses their husband of wife they go out and buy or adopt a dog or a cat for company and to help them to cope with their grief.
Anther reward of owning a pet is for a persons health reasons. I think that will them an excuse to get out and walk and play with their pet to help improve not only their own health but to keep their pet healthy at the same time too.
Since Mario has been living with us I get out and exercise everyday by taking him for a walk. During the spring I take Mario on two or three walks a day. During the winter we only get out once a day.
Anther reward for owning a pet particularly a dog it will help give you and your house added protection. Like for example, the dog would help protect your house from burglars by barking. A dog can also protect you if somebody should try and mug or kidnap you.
Mario is a great guard dog. When somebody rings our door bell he really barks up a storm. I have seen people step back when I open the front door and they see this little dog barking at them.
I know that without a doubt that if Mario ever saw someone trying to hurt me or my mother or father he would not hesitate to protect us with his life. He is without a doubt the bravest dog that I have ever seen.
I think that anther reward for owning a pet is if you have some kind of mental problems. I have depression. I feel that my depression has improved since Mario came to live with me. I still have my good and bad days, but he has helped me become a happier person.
We both give each other a lot of love and attention. I now have a reason to get up every morning. When I come home from work Mario is always there at the door waiting for me. He always wants me to pick him up so that he can greet me with the same warmth and love that I never fail to give him everyday of the year.
Anther reward for owning a pet is to help increase a persons self -esteem. I think that my self esteem has increased since Mario has been living with us. I now have a good reason to be happy everyday of the year.
I feel more positive about my self. I used to be a very negative person, but since Mario has been living with me I am now a more positive human being.
I consider Mario to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me. He has brought me joy, laughter, happiness, love, and warmth. He has defiantly helped me make my life brighter then it was before he came to live with me.
