What is a household? It can be one or more persons living in a house, apartmentt, or whatever. It can also be defined as the affairs, or, goings on, of the home. It is easy to define a household, but defining happiness is a horse of a different color.
I live in a household that is comprised of myself, my wife, my grandson, and sometimes my granddaughter. It may sometimes even contain my daughter, son, or brother. Yes, the size of my home is small but it is filled with an enormous amount of happiness.
Now that is the size of my household, but yours may be more, or it could just be you, yourself. Its not the quantity of members, it's the quality of members.
I believe happiness is the end result of many different qualities or emotions such as being generally worry free, having true character, which produces integrity, and being at peace with God. How a person deals with his spiritual questions and beliefs is private, but for my family and myself, we hold to a belief in Jesus Christ.
I know that many people don't want to talk about religion, but the truth is that until a man is at peace with his spiritual nature, it is hard to be worry free.
I don't want to come off like I'm preaching a sermon, I'm not. Those of us that truly try our best to live by the principles of Christ have experienced the peace that comes as an end result of living by these principles. These principles don't work because we are any better than anybody else; they work because they come from Christ.
One of the great mysteries of a belief in Christ is when we accept him as our savior and hope he then lives within us. I'm not going to go any further into that, but if it is true, and I believe it is, then we will be more content, more caring for the dreams, hopes, and fears of not only ourselves, but also of those that live within our household. This kind of behavior will happen because we are beginning to take on the nature of Christ and that is a wonderful and great mystery.
Our home is where we escape from the world, a fort to feel safe within, you could say. We rush through our whole day trying to get home as soon as possible. It is wonderful to be able to share your home with a family that cares about each other with true love and concern. This sort of home will provide all the ingredients that are necessary to produce true happiness.
