Cat toys: What are the best cat toys?

I have found the best cat toys are not cat toys at all. A laser light makes an excellent cat toy. My cats have actually tried to climb the wall after the little dot that these things make. The funny thing is that no matter how many times I try it on my cat she will still chase it.

Another thing that makes a great cat toy is a fishing pole with a worm tied on the fishing line. Do not put a hook on the line just tie the worm on the line, they love it. You can throw it and they will chase it while you reel it in. You can also make it go in circles in the air and they will chase it and jump up after it.

Some cats also like to play with those mini beanie babies. The TY one's that use to come in happy meals. My step-mom has a cat that is blind and she loves to play with them. She will throw them up in the air and catch them. She will also hide them and then later go find them.

Tennis balls work good also for cats to play with. They love to roll them around everywhere. I have also hung a ball from the ceiling before with fishing line and they will play with this for hours. Weasel balls also make very good cat toys. Those balls that roll around with the weasel on it. Cats usually like those. I once found my cat playing with my children's plastic easter egss that they got in their easter baskets. They like these because they roll around like balls. Cats love anything that rolls around like a ball.

There is also something called a Squirmel that is a worm like creature on an invisible string that is suppose to be a magic toy, but it serves for a good cat toy that you can drag and your cats will chase.

Put a chicken in the house and that makes a good cat toy! They will always be entertained by a flying object. The stores all sell catnip all the time and say that it is great to put in cat toys. I have had a lot of cats and have not found a cat yet that likes catnip. Maybe I just have weird cats but my cats do not like catnip.

Those balls that they sell with the bells in them usually make good cat toys. My most recent cat loves those small mice that thye sell for cats. But the best cat toy ever are the live kind. Cats love real mice the best.
