This article is about "The Great Multitude in White Robes" in Revelation 7.
Close your eyes and just imagine where ever you look someone is standing. Behind them is more people as far as the eye can see and farther on. Many people that when you try to count them you lose count. Do you become overwhelmed? Are you frustrated? I would feel small compared to the size of the group standing in front of me.
I realize they are wearing robes that have been washed in the blood of the Lamb and are sparkling white. They are standing there in their whites robes, holding palm branches and crying out: "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb."
To me it sounds like they are crying out their praise to God. They want to show their love by waving the palm branches and singing out in loud cries. Just think of how that must have looked to see the whole group swaying back and forth to their own music and the noise level must have sounded like thunder.
Why did they do it? Just to get God's attention! How beautiful that must have been! What a sight to see? What a sound to hear? Just think of it. What would you do if you saw that? What would you do to get God's attention?
All the angels were standing around the throne, around the elders, and the four living creatures. The angels fell down on the faces and started to worship God by saying:"Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!"
These angels are showing their love to God by falling on their faces and sing out their thanks for his wisdom, power, strength. They also are thankful for his thanks and honor. God put those angels in a position of power and strength . Gave them wisdom far beyond ours. When the angels sing out their thanks-they are showing their love for God!
One of the elders asked who those people were and John answers "Sir, you know." The elders says "These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white it the blood of the Lamb."
Just think of seeing all those people swaying and shouting their message while the angels fall on their face before God. Shouting their message while lying prone before God. It would be beautiful to behold the sight and sounds of it
Meanwhile, the elders were shouting: "They are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. Never again will they hunger; Never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to the springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
Can's you just feel the love and respect that those people had for God? Can't you imagine how God felt sitting on the throne feeling the outpour of love and hearing all his praise? I bet he felt overwhelmed ,but he also felt happy and proud to be at the center of attention. Close your eyes and open you ears to that love and to the noise they were showing God. Wouldn't you want to be part of that?
I would and one day I pray that I can show God my love for him. For now I will be just happy to study His Word and live the life he has planned for me.
