If you are looking for a game that not only pushes the boundaries of graphical performance, but also has an addictive storyline and compelling characters, Gears of War is definitely for you. I grabbed this game, as I was looking for something which would demonstrate the graphical abilities of the XBOX 360, and boy was I impressed.

Not only were the cutscenes smooth, cinematic and all around impressive, the gameplay itself was fluid, frantic and absolutely sweaty palm addictive!
Although the gore is full on, and getting the hang of the controls and ducking for cover, the game is engaging as you play your part in purging the alien incursion. I found the different gun types and grenades interesting and varied, and the only weapon i disliked was the chainsaw attachment, which I saw as gore for gores sake.

The graphics in this game are cutting edge, and will seriously make most pc games look like mediocre crap, especially if you are using the HD cable!

To sum up, if you like heartpounding seat of your pants, death just around the corner action and great graphics, this is definitely for you. Turn up the volume and get in the zone with Gears of War.
