When a passage of scripture calls a mitzvah a "perpetual covenant" this means that G-d is not going to change His mind about it. The Christian apologetic for the "law" goes something like this: G-d gave us laws knowing we could not keep them so we would have to believe in Jesus for the answer to our sins". This, to me is blasphemy. It is saying that G-d gave laws to man that he could not keep and required punishment and even death for their violation for over 2,000 years and then says "ha, I knew you couldn't keep them". Rather barbaric to think of G-d in that way. And to top it off, now all Jews are going to hell, along with all MUSLIMS and Hindus and every other people group except Christians, even if they try to do good and want to follow G-ds ways. And Hell is an eternally painful, burning tormenting place that G-d never extinguishes....for eternity. Mormons are going there, too..and many other "Christian" groups that don't adhere with traditional Christian theology. This is BAD news to me and a lot of other people.

I could go on and on about the message of "the cross" and it's impact on the pograms and killing of innocent jews all through history and all over the world. I could go on about the forced conversions and public humiliations facing other faiths under christian rule. I could...but I won't. Just suffice it to say that a religion that distorts another religion's Holy Scriptures and misrepresents its author could not possibly bring good news to anyone. The good news is that G-d is a G-d of Justice and Order with a divine plan for all of mankind ....and that just doesn't ever really change.
