At the end of last year I started to do some reading into personal development'. I had quite a negative attitude towards that subject in general but a good friend of mine gave me an audio book by Gerry and Ester Hicks, The Teachings of Abraham.
I am the most cynical person you will probably ever meet. I have a low opinion of organized religion. My brother was abused by a priest in our school. My parish priest was sentenced to 15 years for multiple abuse. So needless to say I am not a bible carrier.
The audio book was a strange one, it is a woman (Ester Hicks) who is speaking the words of Abraham (a collection of souls/spirits/energy). As I am cynical about any medium' or religious talk, I ignored the fact that Ester was talking but that they were not her words. I simply listened to the message.
The message is a clear, understandable and mostly very logical. But I was still cynical about it because it was a bit to out there' for me. The basic messages were good and simple enough to take in, but there were several occasions where I felt that my life and our universe were explained. It explained so many little things that I had questioned in my life.
Since then I have seen The Secret' which is in many ways a basic explanation of what I have learned. Seeing the DVD made me realise that there are some people in the world who have lived by these Laws' and have profited from it, not just wealth, but health and happiness. Since then I have been informed that Oprah is recording a show on The Secret' on 31st January 2007.
I have learned a lot in the past couple of months. What I have learned has improved the quality of my life. I spend every day with more positive thoughts and less negative ones. I am attracting more of the things that I want. I am not attracting so much of the things that I do not want. Every day I get a little better at it and because of that, every day I am getting happier.
My wife has noticed a big difference in my attitude, I don't bitch as much, I don't moan as much, I don't give out as much. I am much more in control of my thoughts and therefore actions. This has been an amazing few months, I am so much more at peace with myself and my surroundings. The house is cleaner, there is no laundry left to do (there used to be mountains of it), dinners are healthier, I am the one who does all of those jobs in our house, so it is amazing.
If any of you feel that you could possibly gain from feeling what I feel then I strongly urge you to do some research into the laws of the universe and then tap into its never ending supply of energy.
Be Well.
PS. Been thinking about changing my name to Happy.
