Of course the church is protesting too much. Anytime the church is protesting a Hollywood product, there's a little too much focus outside the realm of religion. Never mind quoting the Bible, this is just crazy.

And without going into Darwin vs God, I think if there were a chance to disprove the life of Jesus or anything along those lines, many would try to bury it. I mean, where would it leave all of those who came from generations of prayer and have spent their lives dedicated to the church and beliefs? Faith is what keeps many from going morally astray, they don't want to find out otherwise. That would change everything we've ever come to know and learn about life.

And then, on the flip side, the church is supposed to be taking the high road, this shouldn't be worthy of their time or attention. Only answer a critic when they are right. Besides, it's only a movie. Right?

But I suppose in the wake of the last 20 years and the awakening of the scandals with larger than life televangelists, and the many reports of child molestation by church officials, maybe this is the kind of thing to take some heat off and give the world something better to focus on.

Here's the kicker, I'm not Catholic and I never saw the movie, this is just the opinion of someone who is seeing this whole debacle for something that it is, and that is no longer worthy of my writing about....
