Will Young's album Let it Go, which was released in UK, is an impressive set of songs that really do show his full singing talents, especially This Is Who I Am, which was featured as an iTunes Exclusive bonus track.
The album features the songs, Changes - 4:00, Grace - 4:37, Won't Look Down - 3:47, Tell Me The Worst - 3:35, I Won't Give Up - 4:01, Disconnected - 3:59, If Love Equals Nothing - 3:49, Love - 6:32, Simple Philosophy - 4:13, Let It Go - 3:39, Are You Happy - 2:50, You Don't Know - 3:15, Free My Mind - 3:20, and This Is Who I Am - 3:55.
The best songs out of these must be Changes, Grace, and This Is Who I Am. Will Young sings more maturely than he has ever sung before, and with a stronger and more confident attitude to them.
In Changes, Young adds meaningful lyrics that make his song all the more passionate and heart-felt.
I used to have a vision
I was sitting
Somewhere up there
Looking down on myself
Doing right
For once in my life
It changes
Hope my life changes
Gets alright somehow
When I listened to Changes, I shuddered at the beautiful melodies and the way everything harmonized with each other beautiful and meaningfully. Young has done a terrific job at portraying his feelings in this song, which may be the best song in this album.
In the song Grace, Will Young's entrancing melodies of love and romance prove to be extremely addictive and really worth listening to.
Feeling so strange I'm seeing you clearly now
Your beauty's deadlier everyday
All these people am I the only one who found you out
Is no one willing to say, willing to say, willing to say
Each stanza heart-felt, and I loved this song, though I did like Changes a little better.
This album was about to be on the list as one of my favorites. However, the song Disconnected sounds disoriented and confusing, as well as stupid and totally uncharacteristic of Young. The song has a terrible beginning as well as a terrible ending, and it's like a rotten apple in a tub of fresh ones, ruining the perfect scene. Disconnected completely ruined my love for this album, so I had to buy individual songs instead.
Nevertheless, if you don't mind a single song and are a Will Young fan, just go ahead and purchase the entire album. But if you, like me, don't like clutter and useless songs in your library, buy the individual songs, like Changes, This is Who I Am, and Grace.
