The weather is warmer, more legs are being shown, and your make up needs an overhaul. The spring time is great for cleaning away some of your old and outdated product and spice it up with some new ones. Especially your mascara which should be replaced every three months to prevent eye infections.
The winter time is a time of moisturizers, dark colors, and an elegant hair style. The spring time is all about letting your hair loose and wearing lighter more natural make up. The less you pile on, the better for your spring look.
Starting with the basics, foundation should be a lighter fresher look. You will probably be a little paler with winter just getting over, so always try to test your shade before buying. There are so many different mixtures of foundation available today that any skin tone can be accustomed. If you can't afford the department store foundations, then go in for a sample and match the color at any local pharmacy. With that said, you may be able just to pull off a no foundation look for spring time. Beings the look is lighter and all natural, try going with just a powder to help even skin tone, and maybe a tinted moisturizer. You'll feel much better having less on your face as the temperature rises. Just make sure to properly cleanse and tone your face, because the changing of weather will affect your skin.
Another great tip for a natural spring look is a powdered bronzer. You don't want anything to dark, but something a few shades darker then your natural skin tone that you can use as a blush. This will help define your face with out any creamy blushes or too pink/red a blush on your face. A lot of bronzers have a shimmery tint to them which can work for you depending on what look you are going for. If it's early in the morning and you just want to slap on some makeup so look like you didn't roll out of bed, then go against the shimmer. If you want a more glamorous going out type look, then go for a little shimmer. The shimmer will help hide imperfections and slim the face.
For your lips this spring go as natural as you can. Light pinks and tans topped with some gloss is all you need to look polished.
For your eyes, keep this basic as well. Pastels work great in the spring time, as do tans and beige. However, without being boring or understated there are some new techniques and colors that are starting to become popular that you may want to try out. Bright eye shadows and liners are becoming increasingly popular. Bright blues, pinks, purples, and greens are being paired with matching liner for a very defined look. If you aren't ready to be so dramatic, try just the liner with a more neutral colored shadow for an extra pop.
Some things to definitely get for your spring collection are oil absorbing sheets, a purifying scrub and mud mask for a weekly face treatment and to tame your skin from one weather condition to another, white eye liner to use on the inner eye, a bronzer, and a light powder.
