WHEN DO WE BEGIN
It is not only time for a name change, but overdue! Which color? In todays world, what is Civil? If only in one family - mine - we are a mix of many colors, this also means cultures. Should this imply some do not have the same or equal rights in life?
This is today, 2009, not the 1900s or before. Take the color out of white, and no matter what color anyone was, we would all be Albino. Take our skins off and we would all be rather a mottled flesh-red! We would all have to fit into this category.
After the world - mainly the USA - started the ball rolling in South Africa within Sanctions, those called colored (or black,) were the worse off for the suffering it brought. Yet only now, the USA has a 'colored' President. That means that even now, they are already literal years behind a country they punished for their own mistakes! Heaven knows how hard these 'colored folk' have tried.
Does 'Ingenious' count in this minority, outside of Reserves which still exist? All those beautiful first Americans. Or the Mexican, Espagnol - the USAs back yard folk - the very backbone of building the USA? Just because they were different, did that make them slaves?
Weren't any of these holding families together (plus their gardens,) and tilling their soil while tending crops? Do they have the same Rites to be good enough to change this named initials of NAACP... yet? Are they Civilized enough? Are they not colored enough to get away being white? Do their features 'give them away', or make them any the less Advanced?
It's a great step forward with President Obama being back and white - a colored - and a crying shame the term of 'The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People' exists. Meaning...civil rights for ethnic people in the United States. Haven't enough people died just under the banner of 'Colored'? Who is the judge of this?
Taking a good look at 'advanced' consider this. Within 100 years - NAACP's existence - it was declared that there have been 'some changes' (for the better,) for this so called 'minority' group. Yet 'the world' has gone from steam roller to space and back to tell of their advance in the fields of science technology!
Yes, it is time. The end is here, and so is a new beginning. It's out with the old and in with the new. This supposed to be good idea was designed by expected to be 'Intellectual' blacks and whites. Is it Intelligence which holds this up from advancing? Or is this NAACP pushing for a 99 year lease to gain these meager rights so profoundly laid out for the less fortunate throughout the 100 years to even earn a change of name?
Maybe this question is asked because it really is overdue; or else the conscience of these intellectuals has caught up with the times. But between all this, remember the little word 'all' is a big staement. Don't forget the first people! As far as the African American goes, it's 'Out of Africa' in the beginning, to their first USA President Obama today. It's a great place to start! Lets just call it, APAWHR. 'All Peoples Advancements Within Human Rights'! That should help everyone of any color in this new millennium. Now, when do we begin?
