The dictionary is a huge source of inspiration and education for me. I refer to it frequently, as I did in answering the question posed, "Do you believe humanity was created by extraterrestrials?" Defining the key words in the question is important in framing a response.
Humanity refers to all human beings collectively; humankind. To create something is to cause to come into being, as something unique that would not naturally evolve, or to cause to happen; bring about, arrange as by intention or design. Extraterrestrial is defined as outside, or originating outside, the limits of earth. The prefix "extra" , meaning beyond or outside is added to terrestrial, meaning pertaining to, consisting of, or representing the earth as distinct from other planets. Based upon these definitions alone, my considered opinion is that yes, humanity was indeed created by extraterrestrials - or at least, by one extraterrestrial.
One more definition must be applied. God is defined as the one Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe. Since extraterrestrial means originating outside the limits of earth, and God meets that criteria, then my extrapolation is that God is an extraterrestrial being.
Is it sacrilegious to consider God as an extraterrestrial? Often the dogmas of religions teach that God is an unknowable, a being that is everywhere and nowhere. How can God be considered as a being of substance? How can He not. In the Genesis account of creation (there are actually two accounts of creation in Genesis, one being the spiritual creation of all things before the physical, or second, creation, but that is another topic) we are told that man is created in the image of God, male and female. How can these mortal, physical beings be created in the image of a God who has no image? It is illogical.
C.S. Lewis stated, "God is basic Fact or Actuality, the source of all other facthood. At all costs therefore He must not be thought of as a featureless generality. If He exists at all, He is the most concrete thing there is, the most individual, organised and minutely articulated.' He is unspeakable not by being indefinite but by being too definite for the unavoidable vagueness of language." I agree with Lewis, that God is an individual, and an organized being, of vastly higher levels of intelligence and power than we puny humans are able to fully comprehend, to be sure. Which may give rise to the question, why did such a being create such lowly creatures? Did he need playthings? Did
