Define Pornography: Depicition of erotic behavior intented to cause sexual excitement.
It seems pretty basic, but it's not. Ever see a TAG body spray commercial? A young guy getting straddled by his teacher in a plaid "Catholic Schoolgirl" mini skirt? It falls not under actual fornication, but it paints a much stronger picture to a much broader audience. And what do you have as a result? Tons of dudes spraying this on, thinking of the commercial and waiting for the girls to come running.
Truth is, the media sells more sex than Ron Jeremy or anyone else in the Porn industry ever has. The difference is one involves nudity, but in the last ten years, television has shown us heavy sexual intent, adult language, buttcheeks and sideboob on primetime non-cable stations. What do you think the rating and warnings are for beofre your favorite show?!
Depicitions intending to cause sexual excitment is everywhere, and they blast it to everyone with a tv, laptop, ipod, and just the ability to see, hear and feel something deep inside. They play on the human want (and yes need) to address "the urge." Porn is just another medium of entertainment that needs to be in an atmosphere for adults, same way dad used to stash the playboys under the mattress of the clothes hamper in the bathroom. Of course it's not for children to look at, but neither is a man with a hockey mask disembowling teen agers at summer camp, sorry Jason, but it's true. Pornography is prompting people to act on urges that, for the most part, are natural. The argument that many have with it is the morality. So what if people want to have sex in groups, or anal? It's better than another Columbine, where kids were influenced into doing some much worse, by something that isn't sold in the back rooms of Adult Shops. The guns the kids got were at a major supermarket chain, as were the bullets, sold to kids. The musician they were said to have been under the influence of, has albums on stores everywhere.
Bottom line, porn is no worse on Society than the Primetime shows, record and video producers and talk shows who show the same intended "depictions". Factor in that people, with their own money, are buying it by the billions. Do we let the Health Association run McDonalds out of business too for selling a product that isn' the best thing for us? Too many people are concerned with things that are legal, but don't fit their moral standards, and I say to that, too bad. That's why people have died in wars defending the country, to have the right to choose. Call porn distasteful and perverse, but I say the same defines anyone trying to remove any citizens rights. I don't watch Porn, I like the TAG commercials for what they are, but what I like is anyone's Right to choose to partake in something the Government deems legal. Keep your morals out of this, no one has lived perfect life.
Take my right to choose? I think we need to re-define what really is pornographic in today's society.
