When it comes to Gay Pride or Privacy, your dealing with a matter of opinion. Even though the gay lifestyle has become a common theme in todays world, there are still families who believe that it should be locked up and put away somewhere. Every day your confronted with the aspect of is being Gay a right? Should one be proud to be Gay? These are questions that are asked almost everyday.
I don't want to offend anyone or make it sound like I'm a basher. Because, these things are not part of my life. I personally don't care what anyone does with their life as long as it doesn't interfere with me being happy. I have gotten used to seeing same sex couples walking down the street, in stores, and other public places. Do I feel that public signs of affection should be shown by same sex couples? Thats a tough question to answer. Unfortunately I believe that anything that may offend others should not be done or performed in public. With this in mind, if a gay couple is kissing, and it offends someone then they should have the courtesy not to do it, same goes for heterosexual couples.
Should one be proud to be Gay? I believe that everyone should be proud of who they are. They should enjoy life the way they want. I am proud of who I am, and what I do. I believe that everyone has the right to show that they are proud. Sometimes, I wonder if one is born gay, or if it s a choice that is made. I am not sure, I do know that I have no gay feelings or tendencies. So, it is very hard for those of us who are not homosexual to understand what they are going through. We can try, but we will never truly understand.
Should homosexuality be kept private? I believe that to a certain extent all forms of sexuality should be kept private. I don't think that anyone should be walking around in public with next to nothing on. Or groping their partner, whether it be a same sex couple or not. Public signs of affection should be kept to a minimum. Like, maybe a small kiss on the lips. Maybe holding hands or giving a hug. These are all signs that are allowed in public. But, groping or making out, should be kept private regardless what your sexual orientation maybe.
So when it comes to Pride vs Privacy. I think that it is not a decision for the public to make. The person or persons involved should be the ones to make this decision. I am sure that if they are old enough to understand what homosexuality is, they are old enough to make a proper decision.
