Drug use is an awful addiction and once it has started in many cases it may never end. It hurts the drug abusers themselves and their families and friends. Drug abusers endanger themselves and the people around them. It is my belief that you should certainly report anyone who has been abusing drugs. The sooner we get our friend help the more hope that person will have to recover. As this persons friend you are obligated to try to ensure their safety to the best of your capabilities. Drug users have many way in which they could kill themselves number one being over dosing. It's happened many times to friends that I had in High School. Drug users can also pass out and burn down a house or be at the wheel and kill themselves or others. It is our responsibility to ensure the safety of the ones we love. If we don't take a stand to help the ones we love who else will?
Child abuse is something that is unforgivable. No child deserves to be abused; it is the right of anyone who knows about the abuse to inform the authorities right away. Children are helpless and need all the protection anyone can give them. They are defenseless against adults, and easily overpowered. How anyone can harm a helpless child is beyond me. The person who is abusive need serious mental help, and until someone turns them in they won't receive it and the child will continue to be abused. Someone who is abusive towards the helpless has a problem with control and anger and before they end up in a jail cell for life because they went to far, you as their friend have the right to turn them in.
The combination of Drug use and child abuse together is an ugly picture. Children deserve the dream lives out of a fairy tale, not out of a horror flick. Being a child with no responsibilities is the best part of life. I believe when a child is robbed of that fairy tale world, they never grow up fully. There is a reason that we go from an infant to and elderly person. Every step of the way you learn and grow. When children are abused or watching someone else abuse drugs they grow up a little to fast and miss out on all the importance of being young.
Someone who doesn't turn in their friend is not a true friend.A Friend is someone who will push when no one else will push, Someone who will stand by you no matter what, and someone who will let you know when you are out of line.
