Suggested changes to improve the NFL

Where do we start? With just about everything that has been changed in the past. The past needs to to be reinstated as they've turned into the no fun league. [NFL]. We all can say that we miss the outrageous dances and celebrations in the end zone after a touchdown was scored. Billy White shoe's Johnson, De ion Sanders, and even Terrel Owen's antics sent the crowd into a crazed frenzy. People copied their wild moves and fans couldn't wait to see what they would do next. Even if you dislike the team they play for. It still was funny to watch. Isn't that what the game is all about the thrill of victory? It's just a game and games are made to be fun. So lets do away with the celebration penalties and let them entertain us again.

Another thing that needs changing is the pass interference penalties. Its ridiculous that its a spot foul. It's hard enough to cover these fast receivers with all the none contact rules in affect down field. The National football league would be better off with a maximum of twenty-five yards allowed on any penalty down field. Spot fouls before twenty -five yards. This would insure that a single call will not dictate the outcome of the game. First and goal at the one yard line after a fifty yard throw down field can be a devastating call. It's an unfair rule that needs immediate consideration for change.

As fans most of us would like to see a change to the playoff system. Agreed! It penalizes teams that make wild card spots who have better records than division winners. Thus sending them on the road. Records should matter in seating. The divisions are put in place to allow teams from all the regions to be represented in the playoffs. Changes should be made to allow only the best records in the playoffs. The suggestion is to due away with the divisions and have a universal league that still aligns the National league against the American league. Leaving in place the rivalry games but only playing them once a year. Revolving home field advantage from year to year. Then a twelve game schedule against your conference and four non conference games. The playoffs would then made simple by seating them from one to six. Even better eight teams with no first round buys. Aligned according to who has the best records would insure that all the right teams are in the playoffs. Also all tie breakers should stay the same as before.

Most of the changes suggested above would make this a better sport to watch and enjoy. Instead of them turning it into the 'No fun league' or thats a bad call league or my team has a better record and where not in the playoffs league. Go figure. Its in need of change maybe soon they'll give the fans a game thats fair and right.
