I think "deadbeat dads" should be put in solitary confinement with pictures of their kids all around the cell walls to remind them what they are in there for! Any man who gets pleasure out of making babies and not taking care of them I have no pity for. If a man has kids, regardless if he has been put up for child support or not, he knows it is his obligation to help with their care. I say "deadbeat dads" but there are some "deadbeat moms" out there also. I feel the same about them as well. If you don't take care of your offspring you should rot under the jail. I know that sometimes things happen especially in this day and age. I am talking about the deadbeats who have chosen not to be supportive of their children, but run around buying new clothes, cars and such for themselves. Children are expensive and it really isn't fair that single parents like myself have to do it alone. I didn't make these children alone so why should I suffer? Yet alone my children. They don't deserve that. I want to be able to take them shopping and on trips out of town without having to worry about my bank account. I hate that I always have to plan activities around my lonely paycheck. It would truly help if I had a child support check in the mailbox. How does it make the children feel? To know that they can't do or have certain things because their noncustodial parent just doesn't want to take responsibility for them. Is it really worth it to have your child resent you because you are so selfish and only think of yourself? If you can answer yes to that question then you truly are a deadbeat and deserve to be confined until you decide to do better. What makes a deadbeat parent be deadbeat? From my experience It's the lack of initiative and love of others. I think if the states would really enforce child support laws there wouldn't be so many deadbeats out there. I know of men right now who are 10's of thousands behind in child support and they make the money to pay. They just don't because it would taking money out of their pockets. Those are the ones who are not deserving to be free to walk the streets with the rest of us! I say every state should have a child support enforcement unit added to their regular police force. Their job would be to go after deadbeat parents and torture them to the point that they are begging to go the courthouse and take care of their obligations. Then maybe they would want to be the parents that God meant them to be when he gave the ability to have children.
