Bible study: Revelation 12

by Judith Buskohl

Created on: February 25, 2009

Let me first start off to say that I am not a preacher or priest in any way. What is to follow is my version alone of Revelation Twelve.

To me the dragon in this story is Satan who wants to get rid of the child and the child is Jesus Christ. What happens next is a surpriste to Satan. Before he can get the child-the child is delivered to God. Which makes the devil anger and to the rescue comes Michael. Michael and his nagels defeat Satan and his angels. After the long battle Satan is sent hurtling toward earth.

Just imagine the devil running free on the earth causing men to sin where ever he is. How can man defend himself against this you ask?

What we have to do is put on the armor of God on ,so that we will be able to stand firm against all of the attacks from the devil. In Ephesians 6:13-18 tells us to put on a sturdy belt of truth, body armor of God's righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

The scripture also tells us to not to forgot to pray to God that he will be there as the battle rages on between you and devil-Ephesians 6:18. Also, remeber that God lives inside of us and in First John 4:4 says "The Spirit who lives in you is greater than the Spirit who lives in the World." Put God deeply in your heart and when the devil comes against you start to yell the Lord's Prayer and any verses out of the bible that you can think of. The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit and God is there to protect us and no harm will come to us.

I think that when the devil sees us clothed in the armor of God and yelling the Word of God at him he'll take off on a dead run to get away. Remember that with god on our side no harm will come to us. Believe in God and put him deep inside of us. Be serious about being devoted toward God because he will know the difference between being seriouns and not.

The dragon is out there to hurt us and steal from us. The dragon is the devil and the devil is not good for anything except causing trouble for anyone that is out there. Have you ever had a very bad day- have you ever thought of thanking the devil for that? Alot of people I have heard thank God for the bad day ,but no one thinks of saying "Thanks Devil!" Cause that is the rightfully one who gives us bad days.

Remember to say "Thank you dearest Lord for when things go bad as well as good." God test us when he thinks they we are not serious on what we say or do. Be serious when you take the Lord as number one in your life.
