When attempting to communicate with other planes of reality, first and foremost it must be understood that contact should not be made without preparation. One must be safeguarded by psychic protections and by their own understanding in order to perform this work with safety and accuracy. It goes without saying that all participants should be free of intoxicants. A preparatory meditation is recommended to ground, center, and focus the participants.

It is essential to begin every attempt at psychic communication with a firm intention that your psychic information pathway, or channel, be open to none but entities of the most wise and loving order. Use the mind's eye (imagination) to visualize a protective bubble of golden light encompassing your immediate space and all those within, allowing entry only to spirits offering truthful guidance of the highest kind.

Be patient. It may not happen instantaneously, especially if you are unpracticed. Sometimes it may not happen at all, for reasons beyond our comprehension. Have faith that the answer you need will find you when you need it.

A simple way to communicate with unseen forces is by using a pendulum. A pendulum can be any small object of moderate weight, suspended from a cord or chain. Crystals work well, as their molecular nature is well suited to psychic transmission. A chain necklace looped through a ring also work nicely. Hold the cord or chain at one end, allowing the pendulum to dangle freely. Keep your hand and wrist steady and relaxed. Begin by clarifying movements to signal "yes" (generally a clockwise or vertical movement) and "no" (counterclockwise or horizontal movement). When these are confirmed, ask your question(s) slowly, deliberately and clearly. Allow time for each answer to be fully expressed before asking the next question. Irregular movement or none at all indicates that the answer is unclear, undecided, or inappropriate for the seeker's knowledge.

Important aside: chances are you will be denied access to knowledge of upcoming sports scores, lottery numbers, and other matters not relevant to your spiritual development. Some veils are in place for our protection, and are not to be breached for trivial or selfish reasons. The Universe is beautifully built in such a way that there are no shortcuts to taking responsibility for oneself.
