A Fear of the Night'
He goes not gently into the night'
But with fear
The night brings not sleep but
Time to ponder
His life, at day,
Just bearable
At night a desperate waste
He fears the loss of everything
Including house and home
And the breakup of the family and
The departing of his senses
His body cold, but damp with
Sweat, he thinks of death
By his own hand
But awaits
The daybreak and
His life again to be,
Just bearable
