Poetry: Thoughts

Isn't it funny?

You go somewhere

when you're sick of here,

but once you're there

aren't you here again?

And isn't it funny,

love not war,

but isn't love worth fighting for?

If everyone dances

to their own drum,

how do music artists

still make a hefty sum?

Learn from yesterday

to make it through to day,

all just to insure

tomorrow's on its way.

But why fight to make it through today,

when today is the tomorrow

we wanted yesterday?

We fight so hard

to make it to the top,

to tower over all.

But if no one's on the bottom,

won't we all just fall?

There is one place you can find

with folks of every kind.

So many sights, smell and sounds,

so many things if you just look around.

It's not always perfect

but it sure is worth it

once you make your mark,

so isn't life just a walk in the park?

Time goes by too slow,

but then it's gone before you know.

And if the end is just the start

of a newbeginning,

will we ever really reach the ending?
