This Life of mine
is rather sweet
and sometimes mellow
depending on my mood
I often wonder if we get the life we deserve
or deserve the life we get.
I watch my daughter
who is growing up so fast.
A beautiful young woman in her own right
who has felt the pain of her first heartbreak.
I try to tell her
that she, too, will break many hearts
and not to be in such a hurry
to cram every waking hour with new experiences.
In my heart, I know that she will have to learn for herself
that life is a journey to be savored,
and that the destination is the final goodbye.
This life of mine
has brought me sorrow,
and brought me grief
but has also brought me immense joy
and happiness.
The birth of a baby
The loss of a child
The marriage of a sister
The divorces, reunions, the memories of lost loves
The comfort of wonderful friends that are but a phone call away.
A parting of the ways with an adored sister, only
to find our way back for a painful rebuilding
of all we had lost.
This life of mine
has many miles on it
and, hopefully, many more to go.
I can only hope that the rest is as
beautiful as all that came before it.

Poetry: This life
Why does it have to hurt so much?

Even when you know you're right,
You still seem
As seasons change from spring to Fall
And all succumbs to winter's call
This life we live it changes too
From season to
“The most important things in life”
To love and share, to honor and care
To seek and find, to put
Another day has come my way as I crawl out of bed.
To face the world, society and work for little bread.
All these days
I am never quite sure where this life is leading me,
whether I am in control.
Maybe there is such a thing as fate,
or maybe
