Being single allows a person many freedoms that a relationship cannot give them. Freedom from boredom and monotony. The ability to dream and fantasize about the perfect partner. The hope that you can still win the man or woman of your dreams. You do not have to settle for some boring and mousy haired bore. One is left with the freedom to just be themselves!
And, be themselves they truly can! A relationship partner can often try to suppress a person's self expression. As a single person you are free to be as expressive as you wish. There is no bossy bugger around nagging about what you should do or say. You are allowed to go out to parties and tell stories about whatever you want to tell stories about. Nobody will be around making that annoying 'hush' sound.
One can be as sexually liberal as they wish. Often times if you tell of your past sexual exploits your partner will be very upset. Without a partner you are awarded the pride to see yourself as a master of sexual prowess and are not made to feel slutty for your exploits. You can just feel great, modern, and very liberal.
Being single allows you to spend money as you wish. You don't have some little killjoy following you around bitching about your spending habits. You get to choose everything on your own. You don't have to take anyone into consideration when out grocery shopping. You are always able to buy your very favourite foods and nobody can complain about it. Singledom is great freedom. Love is a prison.
In a relationship one must wake up to the same dopey face every single day, if you have gone and shacked up. The same voice all the time can eventually start to sound like fingernails on a chalkboard. Sometimes a relationship partner can make you grind your teeth in your sleep. This isn't good for your overall stress level. The key to longevity is happiness, and sometimes it is easier to be happy single. As a single person there is always hope. With a partner shackled to your side you are inevitably stuck with the same person... and forever more.
When you are single, your mess is your mess. You don't have to keep your place clean because some person is always coming over. You can clean your home for you and when you feel like it. There is no annoying person around to criticize your habits. One can also be permitted some extra fat days. One doesn't feel that they need to constantly focus on their looks.
Being single tunes one into the art of living. A life can be lived to the fullest and enjoyed without any bull.
