Law, government and free choice

Let take this opportunity to discuss gays and the merits of Gay Rights. Which is a farce and a load of road apples.
Gay Rights. Where did that come from? Equality for being gay?! And there should be a rule or law for the protection of being gay?! Really?
Just how do you become gay? By birth? Is it hereditary? A disease or deformity? And just what subtext does being gay fall under?

Obviously, we [ the non gays] don't consider it normal behavior. If we did, there would be no need for a Gay Bill of Rights, or special protection under the law for being gay. Right?
Are they considered minorities, and if so, would they fall under the same laws, rules and constitutional appendix of protection as minorities do?
Let's see. All minorities were born to their races, without forethought or decision, and therefore we can consider it an inherited trait/condition.
As far as scientist have determined, no one is on record as saying, being gay starts at birth. But scientist are certain that minorities born in the United States, are minorities by birth- due to the simple fact that the caucasians are the majority race in America.
So, is being gay a disease or a disability then? If so, then shouldn't gays be entitled to monthly SSI payments and free medical assistance, the same as the majority of disabled unfortunates in America's society?
Are scientist on the verge of perfecting a cure to assist these poor gay souls, to lead them into the folds of normality? Meaning a one man , one woman relationship? With kids, the typical family routine- the whole nine yards? No, they're not.
Being gay, deserves the same rights and special consideration as being a salesperson, a cop, a truck driver, a thief, a smoker, or your friendly neighborhood drug dealer. No more, and certainly no less. Why?
Because being gay was a "choice", that was freely made and freely acted upon! Just like every other path we choose in life, as to whether we want to be an entertainer, a politician, a doctor- or whatever.
Nobody gave any special laws or rights for working as a truck driver. Why should they? You "decided" to be a truck driver. If you "decided" not to drink, smoke, or use drugs; and " decided " not to be or engage in gay activities/relationships, it would be on you. So, the answer is a resounding, no!
We need to put this thing in perspective. If "you" decide that "you" want to be gay and to immerse yourself in such activities; more power to you.
No one's against anyone doing, whatever it is, the law says
