It seems like nobody has the right to privacy, or to be alone these days. If someone happens to step outside at a party, or stops talking for more than two seconds, that person obviously is depressed. Unfortunately your just going to make the problem worse, as it does no good for a person who doesn't want to talk to be forced to open up. Sometimes we want to just be able to sit, and think about life, and how things are going. We all need that time, and space to be able to be by ourselves.
We need our personal space because if we are forced to be around people for all the hours of the day, then we will just get too overloaded. Sometimes he best way to solve problems is to face them head on and just see what happens, but sometimes it is easier to solve a problem by just thinking it over first.
We need that space to just be able to be with our thoughts for a little while. We take in a lot during the day, and sometimes it is just nice to be able to sit in silence, and not have people be all over us. It is amazing how much clearer you will think once you just have a few minutes to think about your day, or organize how your night will go. Once you have all your ducks in a row, it is easier to deal with people, and just relax.
Being cramped in a room can be scary. Even if you know the people you are cramped with, it might not be pleasant to have them all just stuffed in your face. Having to smell everybody, and listen to the annoying guy coughing, or the one who is obviously wearing too much cologne. It is not cool to have to be forced to deal with everyone like that. You need space to run away from things like that, and not being able too can make you go crazy.
You shouldn't have to be an open book. Just because you put something on Facebook doesn't mean taht the whole world gets to see it. As odd as that sounds, you should know the etiquette of stuff like that, and if you weren't supposed to see it, you shouldn't bring it up, or start rumors. It isn't fair, and even on-line people need space, and the right to some sort of privacy. If you can't give people space, don't expect to get your space either.
We just need space as human beings, so that we don't feel overwhelmed. Next time you are cramped in an elevator, or have people stalking you for your feelings on a certain relationship, you will know why. Respect the fact that everyone needs time alone, or needs a little space in the office, so that people don't go crazy.
