I'm the one who made the mistake of committing a crime;
And I'm the one sitting in prison serving this time.
I'm the one who chose to go the way I did;
I'm the one asking GOD to please forgive.

I'm the one who didn't listen to my father or my mother.
I'm the one who should have listened;

Now I'm the one who couldn't solve them.
I'm the one who has to deal with this situation;
I'm the one who needs a new occupation.
I'm the one who's locked up doing time in jail;
I'm the one who got caught trying to make my pockets swell.
If I'm the one who wants to live to an old age,
Then I'm the one who must change my ways!
