Tomorrow is not promised, I've heard them say,
Be present for the moment.
Remember to utter I love you to those you care for,
For if per chance they were to depart, at least you would say,
I said my last goodbye....
When on a flight they took off, 9/11 was just a day,
Until the fatal crush, stole those vibrant lives.
To those they left behind, the final adieu,
The last goodbye was no solace.....
So if I get my chance this once I'll always say,
Goodbye for now, or until we meet again..
To my former schoolmates, who said goodbye,
never knowing, or anticipating on that day
that their poignant words, those touching prose,
Would be their last goodbye.
For having been a true friend, at least I know,
I told them goodbye, in the most loving way I knew
Oh that final goodbye....
