If be chance this poem you read,
the following things you must take heed.
I was once a boy like thee,
riding bikes and climbing trees.
Working towards my rockstar dreams,
doubted faith and what it means.
Slowly Son I learned of things,
saw what beauty knowledge brings.
Wished to inhale the whole world,
pushed aside all little girls.
Found a purpose to my being,
found life was not what it seems.
Living is not spending cash,
owning things and playing jazz.
But living is what's in-between,
the time you spend living your dream.
Upon this stubborn ears may burn,
so woe to you for what you earn.
To be a man is quite a task,
What is a man? this you may ask.
A man is one who tells the truth,
is not afraid to ask for proof.
A man fights only with his words,
with little need to yell and curse.
A man is he who sees the lies,
beneath that sexy flash disguise.
A man indeed knows what he needs,
and takes it when he earns his keep.
A man's responsibility,
is to unhold his family.
Protect and teach, provide and guide.
Together on this magic ride.
Of all the words I say in this,
accept the world for what it is.
A bitter place where trouble looms,
and your job is to clean your room.
