What is your all-time favorite movie or film in history? I would have to say that over 90% of the population of people all around the world have watched at least (1) one film sometime in their entire life from ages 1-100. Some people have watched thousands and thousands of movies over their entire lifetime, especially me! Is this ADDICTION good or bad? Which I often wonder? Although, it does seem to make me happy! "I've never killed anyone because of it!" So it couldn't be too bad.
Viewing films and or movies can be bring so much pleasure to human beings everywhere in any race, culture, language worldwide. Even "happiness and warmth" if the film is so extraordinary that you just can't get it off your mind for days after viewing. Personally, I have always been a big fan of comedies. If I paid $10.00 at the modern day theater and this movie made me laugh so hard that I started coughing and hyperventilating for oxygen. Then I would have to say, I got my money's worth of viewing pleasure.
I guess my all-time favorite movie in my history of viewing thousands of films on T.V. and in the theater has to be "Christmas Vacation!" Starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo. Ironically, whenever this film was released in 1989, my wife and I went back and forth to the theater (3) three different times over a period of 2 weeks. We even took family members just to show them the laughter of the theater audience and NOT just the comedy of the film itself during this particular Christmas. "It was a great Christmas!" for my children and family members which I will always remember.
Over the years, I purchased this film on VHS (Video Cassette) and on DVD. Unfortunately however, I viewed this film so many times that I eventually memorized the complete dialogue. Which I hate now days, because I loved this film so much in the beginning. ("I guess too much of a good thing can sometimes be bad?") I seem to know every word for word before the comical characters speak it! Every little scene like "Clark the little lights aren't blinking?" Which seems to stay in my mind every time I put up Christmas lights each year around my home.
Have you honestly loved and watched a movie so many times that you memorized every word spoken in the dialogue? Year after Year? Could it be that this one film has so much meaning at this time and place in your life? Or could it be that this particular film viewing sharing happened on a great eventful day in your life with another wonderful human being in your life
